Jaelyn had a major meltdown in the store today. All because she did not want to move to a different seat in the cart. It was horrible to deal with because it was in public and she was loud as she wanted to be. Eventually she did stop, I think because other things in the store caught her attention, but this was one to remember.
Last night I tried to watch “A Charlie Brown Christmas” with Jaelyn and she was not interested at first. She said, “I don’t want to watch Charlie Brown.” Then Snoopy came skating on the screen. That changed it all. The music she loved but Snoopy was the king of the night for her. She got more and more into it as the program went along to the point that she wanted to watch more when the half hour was over. But then it was time for bedy-by!
Yesterday it was the flip chart today it was the “berries” on the garland on the stairway. Jaelyn picked them off in relative silence and left them on the stairs in living room, and the downstairs hallway. When I asked her why she did what she did, she said “I did not do my best.”
Today Jaelyn decided to rip up the beautiful flip chart with the US map, animals, numbers, alphabet, state and world flags, solar system, and a bunch of other educational stuff! It was a big shock to see not because she is incapable of being destructive but because she loves to look at all of the things on there.
After looking online for a replacement Jayné and I did our best to tape the pieces back together but it was unnecessary.
I just looked on the site and saw that it was almost a year since I posted something. SO MUCH has happened. I feel so bad, because I know that I have missed documenting all of the pariculars of Jaelyn’s growth and adventures. I must do better.
She is now officially 2 and a half as of Friday the 5th of September (also the 9th wedding anniversary for me and Jayne). And she is full of words, feeings, opinions and likes and dislikes. So now as we make the turn toward birthday number 3, I will try to make sure her development is documented online.
Jaelyn asked to go to the pot today. It was just out of the blue and a complete surprise. All she said was “Daddy I have to pee.” When I asked her to confirm what she said, she said yes.
So Jayné put her on the pot and she went. Hopefully, this is the start of a trend and the beginning of end of buying diapers!
Today I put Jaelyn down for her mid-day nap, and she would not nap. She talked and sang her way through the whole time she was supposed tobe sleeping. She is to smart for herself sometimes.
Wow I have not written in quite awhile. No excuses even though there may be an explanation or two but it would take the same time i could type to try to explain. So I will try to write backwards as much as I can remember.
Our little girl is experiencing breakthroughs on a daily basis. That is teeth breaking through her gums. She has approximately eight more teeth coming in at the same time. She has had some discomfort and bleeding but is doing better than what we could asked.
